Welcome to the Great Oaks Preschool program!

Our mission is to provide a supportive environment and experiences that enable preschool children to develop to their fullest potential—physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively—while preparing high school students to be successful teachers.

  • October through May

    Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

    2 hours/day

    9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

     

    • Serves children ages 3-5 who are toilet-trained.
    • Incorporates Ohio's Early Learning and Development Standards to help prepare children for kindergarten.
    • Includes a variety of lessons and activities with specific themes, prepared by our high school student teachers.
    • Has a maximum class size of 24 children.
    • Offers high school students the chance to work with children to provide a safe, nurturing developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Our program is unique because it serves as a learning laboratory for high school students in the Early Childhood Education Program.

    • Professional Staff: Preschool staff are certified teachers and college graduates with training in child development.
    • Student Aides: High school students assist in the classroom under the direct supervision of Great Oaks instructional staff.
    • Curriculum: We incorporate Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards into all activities , focusing on socialization, pre-academics, creative arts, and music.
  • Eligibility:

    • Children must be at least three years old (on or before September 1) and not yet six years old.
    • Children should be toilet trained and able to express basic needs before enrolling.

    Schedule:

    • The preschool operates three days a week for seven months. We follow the Great Oaks Career Campus calendar and are closed on holidays, vacations, and calamity days.

    Tuition per month:

    • The tuition is $40.00 per month, payable during the first week of each month.

     

  • The safety of your child is our top priority. Our facilities meet high standards for fire, health, and building codes and undergo annual inspections.


    Medical Documentation

    • Child Medical Statement: A doctor-signed form (with exam date within the past 12 months) must be on file within 30 days of admission.
    • Immunizations: A copy of the child’s immunization records is required.
    • Enrollment Information: An enrollment form covering allergies, medications, and physical history must be submitted by the first day.

    Illness Policy

    To protect all students, children will be observed daily for signs of illness. A child will be isolated and sent home if they exhibit symptoms such as:

    • A temperature of 100°F (when combined with other symptoms).
    • Diarrhea or vomiting.
    • Severe coughing or difficulty breathing.
    • Evidence of lice or parasitic infestation.
  • Clothing:

    • Please dress your child in comfortable, washable "everyday" clothes suitable for play. Always provide a complete change of clothes in a labeled plastic bag.

    Snacks:

    • We serve a light, nutritious snack daily that meets USDA Smart Snacks guidelines. If you are asked to provide a shared snack, it must be unopened in the original packaging.

    Visitation:

    • Parents have unlimited access to the program and are always welcome to visit.
